History of the hotel

The Hotel Restaurant Rhodannenberg looks back on a long tradition. The first mention of an inn named “Seerüti” was made at the end of the 18th century. Around 1900, the whole house had to be moved further back because it had to make way for the newly built dam.

83 years later, this house had also served its time. It was rebuilt and moved away from the road. With its modern infrastructure, it now meets today’s requirements.

Adrian and Adelheid

Since 1975 Adrian and Adelheid van Sprundel have managed the Rhodannenberg and thus ensured the hotel operation for decades. In 2014, their son André van Sprundel acquired the Rhodannenberg from the municipality of Glarus.

Since then, Adrian and Adelheid withdrew from the day-to-day business for reasons of age and left the business to their son. André was inspired by his parents, who ran the Rhodi with heart, sweat and soul.

Rahel Tscholl

Chef de Service | Shift manager

Tobias Reif

On the one hand, he acts as an operations assistant, but also helps out in service. The fact that he can do both has to do with the fact that Tobias, who comes from Bavaria, successfully completed his training as a state-certified hotel manager in 2011. He then worked in various hotels and recently completed an internship at a design agency.

Operating assistant

André van Sprundel

André van Sprundel is active in Zug with his IT company GHR Global Human Resources AG. He bought the Hotel Rhodannenberg from the municipality in 2014 after his parents had run the hotel as a tenant couple for over 40 years and he grew up here. He can still often be found at the “Rhodi” together with his daughter Lara - in summer, when time permits, even as an ice cream man on Lake Klöntaler.
